How to Write an Article step by step? tutorial

Step Number One

Professional content writers are exactly that, professional. They take their jobs seriously. When a professional writer has been provided with instructions from a client, they read them carefully to get an understanding of what is required. Professional writers usually note down any points of interest or special instructions that the article requester has given.

Step Number Two

If the article is for your own use then you would normally have chosen a topic or you may have been provided with one as a need of necessity. Ask yourself what are you going to write about and in what way are you going to talk about the topic. Think about the final use of the article and tailor the article to suit its purpose. Think about it: is it promotion, informative article with a action involved from the reader, is it purely for education purposes. Pick a number of approaches from the different article approach types.
You can use anywhere from 1 to all of the different approaches in your article, this depends on the length of an article and the purpose.
Next brainstorm for ideas, writing down ideas and thoughts about the subject. Professional writers do a lot of research on each of the approaches and create some points or questions that they want to cover.
Finally, after jotting down all of the ideas a professional writer valuates whether the ideas are suitable and chooses a method of executing these ideas with the end goal of that article always in mind.

Step Number Three

Know your audience. Professional writers always evaluate the contents purpose. Is this piece of web content being written for a specific audience, for example a particular profession or type of person such as a Internet marketer? Or is this audience knowledgeable about the topic already or are they only new to the subject. Having an understanding on whom the audience is will allow you to set a suitable tone for the article and orientate the content so that the audience finds value in the article.

Step Number Four

Research the topic in detail to provide information that is not common knowledge. When writing an article it is a good idea to have something important, different or informative to say and research is a good way of educating yourself about the topic. There are many resources you can use to find relevant content about a subject. Obviously you can use the internet search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo, Wikipedia and the many other information sites on the Internet. When using these sort of resources however it is important to rewrite the information in your own way. Professional writers do not copy information from other sites as this is copyright infringement, they always re-write in their own words the information. The only time when a professional writer will not re-write it in their own words, is in quotes that a particular person has said or when it is a fact in figures, for example a percentage rate.

Step Number Five

Professional writers will always layout a outline of the article and will create a few points they will cover in details. Creating a few points before writing the article is a great way of focusing the efforts of the articles purpose. This is a simple trick to help any writer provide valuable content as well it helps in the prevention of writing filler content that has no value. It is best practice to write unique top quality content for websites as this helps the websites web marketing, web ranking and content marketing efforts.

Step Number Six

Commence Writing. Professional writers are aware there is a method to writing an article.
Always start with an introduction, then the body and conclusion. In the introduction the writer should start by telling the audience what they are going to told about and what they can expect to learn. The body of the article is the details about the topic and mention different points that will connect to the reader and provide valuable information that they were told to expect. The conclusion is where the article is summarized and state any conclusions that the reader should have come to when reading the article. This method of writing is called "being taken down the garden path" by many professional writers as this neatly explains the process.

Step Number Seven

Once the article is completed, professional writers will always proof read the article to find and fix any errors. They also read the article to make sure it reads well and covers the topics well. A common first step is to read the article aloud to ones self, making any mental notes to fully pronounce every word. This helps the writer find grammar errors and inconstancy in the article. Once a reading is completed and any errors have been fixed, this process is repeated again and again until the article is deemed to be satisfactory. Next process is usually to look for spelling errors as a spell checker does not always pick these up. It is quite common for a word to be found in an article that is the wrong word for the sentence but it is spelt correctly or it could be missing a letter such as "s" or "y", professional writers always check for these.
Once a professional writer, be it a press release writer, a blog writer, sales copy writer or any type of writer, has been through the process of writing and checking a few times, they get used to all of these and it all becomes unconscious competence writing. If you follow the steps above, one day you too will be able to call yourself a Professional Writer.

Article Writing Tips

When you are writing an article there are a few items that you can include: who, why, where, when, what and how. If you answer these questions, you are half way to writing a good article.
Check grammar and spelling as you go and when you have finished the article. Spend the time correcting these during the creation process and once the article is complete and don't forget to include LSI keywords.
What is a LSI keyword? LSI keywords are related keywords and can be found by using Google adwords keyword tool. An example of LSI keywords are words you might find in the same paragraph as a specific keyword ( related keywords ) eg if the keyword is "Article Writing" then LSI keywords include the following: SEO article, web content writing, article writers, article writing service etc.

Do not keyword stuff.

Using too many of the same or related keywords can make an article sounds very unnatural, this will affect the quality of the article. Remember high quality content is king and is essential for success in web marketing. Make sure the article reads naturally and is informative, this is most important.
Use bullet points to break up and highlight some valuable information. Bullet points or numbered points can make writing an article a lot simpler in terms of organization. This is because you no longer have to figure out transitions from one point to the next. An Example is "10 Ways to find the best Article Writing Solution".
Another great side benefit is that readers like lists, they are easier for the eye to follow and help in everything from sales to conversions.
Basically, a Google friendly and optimal article comes down to 7 things:
  • A writers skill and experience
  • A writers SEO knowledge and skill
  • The writers good use of grammar
  • Good spelling
  • Research and knowledge of the topic
  • Unique content ( make sure to use a service that copyscape tests all submitted content just like Articleteller.com does ) You never want to pay for a copied article.
  • A well written article that grabs the reader's attention.

Top tips How to Write an Article in 20 Minutes

I don’t really want to spend more than 20 minutes a day on writing articles. And I spent no more than 20 minutes to write this article.
I realize this is writing blasphemy. Internet marketing is powered by content, and content is king. But when I have a daily schedule to post on and a business to run, I don’t have time to spend hours polishing every single blog post or writing 2,000-word articles.
Writing quickly doesn’t mean compromising on writing well, though. I’ve got seven tips to get you in and out of that composition box in twenty minutes – without sacrificing quality.

1. Keep an idea list.

When inspiration for a post strikes, scribble it down in a notebook or a word file. For many bloggers and content creators, finding the topic to write about takes up half the time. Keeping an idea list lets you leap in to a new post quickly when you’re ready to write.

2. Let your ideas incubate.

If you try to force yourself to come up with supporting information for your brilliant idea right away, it’s going to take ages. Let that topic sit for a few days, though, and you can add new ideas as they occurs to you – and when you’re ready to write, you’ll already have all the supporting info you need.

3. Edit before you start

You’ve probably got twice as many ideas as you need at this point, so it’s time to be brutal. Cut out any supporting idea that doesn’t fit with the main topic of the article. Remember, we’re talking about how to write an article in 20 minutes, not an epic. You can always use the ideas you don’t need for later posts.

4. Use bullet points

Bullet points, or numbered points like “10 Ways to Get More Subscribers”, can make writing an article a lot simpler in terms of organization because you no longer have to figure out transitions from one idea to the next. The great side benefit is that readers like lists; they’re easier for the eye to follow.

5. Keep it short

If you want to finish that article in 20 minutes, try to keep it under 500 words. Don’t feel like you’re skimping on quality content, either: this article is only about 500 words but it’s chockfull of information. Make every word count and you’ll save time without letting quality slip.

6. Come back later

If you find that you’re stuck, don’t try to force the words to come. Save the article and work on something else for awhile. If inspiration strikes, open up that document again. You can even switch from one blog post to another, spending a few minutes on each as ideas comes to you. It’s a huge time-saver.

7. Never save a good idea

It’s tempting, when you look through your list of ideas, to save the best ones for later because you think they’ll be easier to write. You don’t want to save time later, you want to save time now. Do the articles you know will come easily and make the most of that time.
Follow these simple steps and you’ll be on your way to brilliant articles in a fraction of the time. Share some of your favorite article writing tips in the comments!

How to Write Good Grammar Articles

Whether it's for a magazine, newspaper, your teacher, or even wikiHow, writing an amazing article is within your grasp. Here are a few basic steps to take to craft an interesting, informative article.
Method 1 of 3: Come Up With An Idea
Get to know your audience. Decide who you need to write for before proceeding with planning or writing an article. Writing for an academic audience vs. writing for pre-teens is very different and you will need to plan accordingly.

  1. Identify the needs of your readership. What do your readers need to know? How does your own knowledge matchup against the information they need? This will be the easiest way for you to find a topic to write about. You can also extensively research information that you don’t know, so don’t be deterred by that.
  2. 3
Be unique. If you are writing an article about something that other people are also writing about, try to be unique in how you approach the material. You should add to the conversation, not exist alongside it. This will draw your readers in and keep them coming back for more.
    • Write about your topic in a way that no one has ever written about it before. You can take a different tone, a more visual approach, or any number of other methods of altering the material.
    • Bring new ideas to the topic. Make suggestions or offer information that other people don’t have. This will give people a reason to read your work over others.
  3. 4
Be passionate. You should care about the topic you choose to write about. Your enthusiasm will show in your writing and it will be much more engaging for your readers. You may even be able to make them care about something they did not care about previously, like current events or historical concepts.
  4. Method 2 of 3: Research Your Idea
  5. 1
Learn the basics. Get the general explanation of whatever you are trying to write about. This will give you a basic framework for what to look for as you research. You can use a website like Wikipedia, read newspaper articles or a book, or talk to someone knowledgeable on the subject. It will depend what you are writing about.
    • You should assume, at this stage, that some or all of the information you are getting is incorrect or incomplete. Don’t stop your research here.
  6. 2
Find reliable sources. Now that you know what to look for, research your topic. You can use the internet, a library, conduct interviews, watch documentaries, or whatever you feel is appropriate to teach you everything you need to know about your topic. Be an expert!
    • You can do research online very easily. However, you should be wary. Draw only from reliable sources like reputable newspapers, experts on the topic, government websites, or university websites. Look for information that lists other sources, since this will help back up any claims made by your source. These materials can also be acquired in print and the same precautions should be taken there.
  7. 3
Get different types of material. During your research, look for material that isn’t text. This can be used or altered to add to your article. You can look for data to make your own charts or templates, take photographs to match your text, or anything else which you feel might help your readers understand the information better and make them care about the topic as much as you do.
  8. Method 3 of 3: Write Your Article
  9. Decide your length. Does this article have a word count? Do you need to fill a certain number of pages? Consider what type of content you’re writing about and how much space that can fill, as well as how much needs to be written in order to cover the topic adequately, before proceeding with writing your article.
  10. 2
Outline your article. Before you begin formal writing, you will want to outline your article. This outline, which will break down which information goes where, will serve as a roadmap and help you see where more information may be needed.
  11. 3
Pay attention to style, structure and voice. You will want to write with a style, structure, and voice which makes sense for the type of article you are writing. Evaluate your audience to determine what the best method would be to present your information to them.
    • For example, a newspaper article will need to offer information in a narrative, chronological format and be written with accessible but not overly-colloquial language. An academic article will need to follow the general 5-paragraph essay format and be written with high, formal language. A how-to, like WikiHow articles, can be written in more informal language which is intended to connect with readers on a personal level and should follow a format which allows for the breakdown of information into clearly visible sections and steps.
  12. 4
Edit your work. Before you submit your work, you will want to do some editing and revision. If time allows, wait for a day or two before editing. This will allow the information to filter out of your brain, so that you will be less likely to read the text with what you intended to write rather that what you actually wrote (skipping words, writing the wrong word, etc.). Reading aloud can also help with this.
    • Read over your text for spelling and grammar mistakes.
    • When that is done, make sure the structure makes sense and the information is broken down in a logical manner. Can someone new to the material follow and understand what you are saying? Make sure you do not include any contradictory information or information which appears to be contradictory.
    • Rewrite sections or the entire thing as necessary. Revisions like this are commonly needed, so don’t feel like you’ve failed or are incompetent.
  13. 5
Make it better. Add to the amazing text you’ve written with videos, pictures, charts, and any other visual or audio material which you found or made in the course of your research. This will make your information more engaging and easier to understand.
  14. 6
Respect the rights of other writers. If you are using information from an external source, be sure to cite the source at the bottom of the article. Depending on the license of the content, you may or may not need to cite the external source. However, it's always better (and certainly more polite) to ask for permission if you are unsure.
  15. 7
Submit your work. When you’ve finished, submit your work in the appropriate manner.
  16. 8
Ignore the trolls. People like to get angry about other people’s opinions. It’s just a part of life. The internet has made this even easier and far more vicious and common. If your article is submitted online, you may find that people post negative comments about what you have said. Even with journal articles, you will have colleagues disagree with you and use very complex language to essentially call you schoolyard names. The healthiest practice with trolls is to ignore them. You can’t please everybody.
